SONYMA Spruce Up is a community event that brings together homeowners and volunteers to help cleanup, landscape, paint, and repair as many as 20 homes in a single day at no cost to residents. This year’s event will be held in the Bay Shore neighborhood on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 8 am - 3pm. Proceeds raised support the SONYMA Spruce Up event.

How Can You Help?
Volunteer your time to this great community event! Bring your friends, family, co-workers or employees and help us clean up, paint, landscape, and renovate! SONYMA Spruce Up is a great team building experience and we welcome groups! Typical volunteer jobs include:
Outdoor painting (siding, windows, shutters)
Power washing and debris removal
Outside repairs (steps, guters, fences)
Yard and neighborhood park spruce up.
What Should You Bring?
You do not need to bring anything except for yourself! SONYMA Spruce Up will provide our volunteers with snacks, water, and lunch around 12:30pm.
What Should I Wear?
All volunteers should wear comfortable work shoes or sneakers and clothes that can get dirty! If you are volunteering as a part of a team, we encourage you to wear t-shirts from your organization or group if you have them. Please remember to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly – layers work great!
Where do you go?
Our registration and welcome table will be set-up at the First Baptist Church of Bay Shore, 175 2nd Avenue, Bay Shore. Please plan on arriving by 8 am on Friday, October 18th. Our staff will give you all the information you need to have a fantastic day giving back to our community. After checking in & a brief welcome with coffee and pastries, you will be directed to your assigned property.
