The Plus One ADU Program (The "Program") is an initiative to create and improve accessory apartments in the Town of Riverhead. By working with local governments, the Program will provide grant funds and support low- and middle-income single-family homeowner occupants who wish to create a new accessory apartment or improve an existing accessory apartment that needs to be brought into compliance with local and state code requirements. Depending on the property and what the locality permits, ADU's may be small, basement apartments, garage conversions, or other permitted units.
